Bishop Mikaelian

Bishop Mikaelian

Diagnosed March 2009 with a brainstem tumor called Ganglioglioma. Surgery deemed this tumor "inoperable". Was then diagnosed shortly after with seizures. The max dose of radiation & 15 mos. of chemo could not cure Bishop of her tumor.
Bishop has chronic pneumonia and is currently fed through a g-tube, has a shunt, and a trach.

Rest & Wellness

Bishop is on the mend. Even though she sleeps an average of 14 - 16 hours a day, she is physically improving. Her C-Diff has been no fun though! I'm glad she is able to take this week to rest up and feel better. We did speak with her Pulmonary doctor on Monday. He too was upset that Bishop's aspiration test, that was scheduled Friday night, was cancelled. He made some calls to both ENT & the GI doctors and they will work on rescheduling this test, along with others, in the near future.Today we went to the eye doctor at Vanderbilt to have her eyes checked. They are actually better than they were when she had her physical in January. This was great news. Bishop does not need glasses at this time.Thank you to Bishop's classmates that sent her Valentine's Day cards. The 6E "Tyro Pyros" team ROCKS!!! Thank you…
